F. Method of Application
1)Place the patient supine, remove the pillow, and tilt the head back.
2) Clear any visible foreign matter from the mouth and throat, including dentures.
3) Insert the oropharyngeal air passage to prevent tongue bite and obstruction.
4)Position the rescuer behind the patient's head, tilt the head back, and lift the lower forehead to maintain an open airway.
5) Securely hold the mask over the patient's nose and mouth, applying firm pressure with your thumb and forefinger, while the remaining fingers steady the forehead.
6) Use the other hand to squeeze the ball, pushing air into the lungs. Ensure to squeeze the ball regularly, allowing sufficient inhale/exhale time (Adults: 12~15 times/min; Children: 14~20 times/min; Infants: 35~40 times/min )Each ventilation should last between 1 to 2 seconds.
7)If an air tube or tracheotomy is in place, remove the mask and connect directly to the tracheotomy joint, following standard procedures. .
8)Rescuers must monitor the following conditions to ensure normal ventilation:
a. Observe the patient's chest rise and fall with the compression of the breathing sphere.
b. Check the patient's lips and face color through the transparent section of the mask.
c. Look for condensation inside the mask during exhalation.
